The hospital is being created for the middle and lower classes of society with an objective to provide world class treatment at an affordable cost. No professional fee will be charged to these patients and hospital will not recover any indirect expenses from them. Currently the open-heart surgery charges range anywhere between Rs.1.5 lakhs to Rs.2.5 lakhs. The proposed charges for such surgery at BSS would range between Rs. 90,000/- to Rs. 1,30,000/-. The lower charges would largely benefit patients belonging to the lower income segment, who are hitherto deprived of availing these facilities due to the high cost. The affordability of the treatment would increase the number of patients, thereby ensuring the economics of scale.
