It was a dream ............ We started with a small five page website hosted on a free server. And the website was named http://www.jamshedpur.8k.com. It looked like a site designed by a novice. But this is where the dream began. A couple of website on Jamshedpur were already on the web and we couldn't dare taking on them. But these website certainly lacked in content, although, our's was no better. The next step was to get a name registered. After a lot of deliberation jamshedpurlive.com was finalised and luckily enough in the era when getting a desired domain name is literally impossible the name was registered on February 2001. As a tribute to founder of Jamshedpur, the picture of Jamshedji Nusserwanji Tata was put on the Home Page. A couple of pictures from past and J N Tata were also uploaded. However, as the site wasn't registered on any search engine and it had virtually no content it hardly got any visitor. At this stage the work started started much seriously. Research on jamshedpur's past was carried and a very good history section was put. A couple of new section including city picture gallery, map of jamshedpur, custom made guest book and an immensely popularly classifieds section were introduced. To gain a global outlook a world map with Jamshedpur blinking in it was put on the Home Page. Meanwhile, the site was also registered on a couple of search engine including Google. The daily hits for the site at this stage was around 10 visitors. This is where we left our competitors way behind. With more than 250 pages and around 75 pictures of city and history the website was much bigger. The new sections introduced at this stage were Alumni Club, Jamshedpur Quiz, Helpline, Bulletin Board, Opinion Poll, Jokes, Fun n Humour, Love Zone and Lyrics Zone. For the first time a Hindi Section was introudced in Jamshedpur on May 2002. This is where we are now. And the dream has started transforming into reality ..............
